Missouri Standout Lands SEC Weekly Honor, But Not Cody Schrader

Tigers graduate student Darius Robinson was named the Defensive Lineman for the Week

Missouri football picked up a player of the week honor from the Southeastern Conference on Monday, but not one that a lot of fans thought was deserving as well.

Graduate student Darius Robinson was named the Defensive Lineman for the Week after he notched a sack in his sixth consecutive game, along with two tackles and a quarterback hurry, during No. 14 Missouri’s 36-7 rout over No. 13 Tennessee. He leads the Tigers with 6.5 sacks for the season.

Overall, Mizzou held one of the nation's most explosive offenses to seven points, the Volunteers' lowest scoring output in the Josh Heupel era. It was also the fewest points the Tigers have allowed since shutting out Vanderbilt in 2020.

The Vols were limited to under 83 rushing yards, marking the first time they have been held under 100 yards since their matchup with Georgia in 2022 and their lowest total overall since 2021 against the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Cody Schrader did not win an SEC award even though the former walk-on picked up 321 yards from scrimmage against Tennessee. It was mostly due to timing as some other players also had record-setting performances.

Among them, Jalen Milroe scored six touchdowns (three passing and three rushing) for Alabama against Kentucky, but he didn't win either. Instead, the offensive player of the week was LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels.

He set the SEC record for total offense, racking up 606 total yards in the 52-35 win over Florida, during which he scored five touchdowns (three passing, two rushing). In the process, he became first player in FBS history to pass for 350 yards and rush for 200 yards in the same game as he totaled 372 yards through the air and 234 on the ground.

This week's other winners:

Offensive: Jayden Daniels
Defensive: Jalen McLeod, Auburn
Special teams: Keionte Scott, Auburn
Offensive lineman: Charles Turner III, LSU
Freshman: CJ Allen, freshman
