The Missouri Tigers faced obstacle after obstacle on their way to a 10-and-2 record and New Years Six appearance. Ohio State would be no different, regardless of missing players, the Buckeyes are a long time powerhouse in college football.

If you were looking for high flying offenses this game is not the spot for you. Instead, two defenses showed up to Arlington ready to leave it all on the field. The Missouri offense was stagnant through three quarters of this game, until something clicked early in the fourth quarter. At the end of the day, the Tigers would do just enough to leave The Lone Star State with some New Year's Six hardware to put an end to a magical Missouri season.

  • Ohio State strikes first by putting a field goal on the board after a 27 yard drive. The field position battle has played an important role thus far.
  • Devin Brown is nursing an injury, he is playing through it though he is obviously not at 100 percent health.

Second Quarter

  • Ohio State have become one dimensional since the injury to Brown, they haven't completed a single pass since his injury.
  • Missouri fans might get deja-vu as Missouri gets pushed back for a delay of game after lining up for a record setting kick. Missouri would have to settle for a Hail Mary that wobbled out of bounds.
  • Both teams have combined for 48 total passing yards through the first half, with over a third of them coming on Missouri's final drive.

Third Quarter

  • Missouri started the third quarter with the ball after deferring to begin the game. On the very first play Brady Cook took a direct unblocked shot for eight yards that would cripple the drive. Until Missouri gets its pass blocking together they are going to face issues moving the ball.

  • Jack Sawyer is dominating the second half so far, creating two sacks early in the third quarter.
  • Neither offense can get going in this half. Missouri can neither create separation or a clean pocket for Brady Cook. Ohio State is dearly missing their quarterback. Ohio State is in a particularly weird spot, unable to pass the ball due to the risk of getting behind the chains proving too much to overcome.
  • Missouri is finding their legs offensively on this drive thanks to great plays by Brady Cook and Marquis Johnson. The opening of the fourth quarter will be game-defining, if not game-deciding.

Fourth Quarter

  • Missouri strikes first on a Cody Schrader run, Ohio State will now need to put the ball across the goal-line in order to pull themselves back.
  • Ohio State started their last drive looking like they were going to go right back at Missouri and get a score of their own... Then they got behind the sticks. After passing mid-field the Buckeyes would end up in a third-and-long situation that has haunted them all game long.
  • Missouri has found their offense, putting together back to back long touchdown drives, capping off tough first downs with a strike to Luther Burden in the back of the end zone. With Ohio State's offensive struggles, that drive may have been the nail in the coffin.
