Mizzou Dominates SEC Player of the Week Honors

Tigers had three players named by the league office following the dramatic 33-31 victory against Florida at Memorial Stadium.

Missouri football had three players land SEC Player of the Week honors on Monday morning following the Tigers' 33-31 victory against Florida at Memorial Stadium: junior quarterback Brady Cook, senior left guard Xavier Delgado and senior kicker Harrison Mevis.

They were named the co-offensive, offensive lineman and special teams players of the week, respectively.

Cook was 20-for-34, with 331 yards and two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing, as Missouri notched win No. 9 in a season for the first time since 2014. He led the 12-play, 62-yard drive in 90 seconds to set up the game-winning field goal, and also connected with wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. for the Tigers' longest play from scrimmage and longest scoring play of the season, 77 yards.

In the process, Cook became the fifth Mizzou quarterback to throw for 3,000 or more yards in a season (3,077) and surpassed 6,000 career yards passing and 7,000 yards of career total offense. He needs 94 rushing yards to become the third Mizzou QB to amass 6,000-plus yards passing and 1,000-plus yards rushing in a career.

Cook shared the honor with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who tied the school record for touchdowns responsible for in a game with eight (six passing, two rushing) in 56-14 win over Georgia State.

Delgado was Mizzou's highest graded offensive lineman in the game. He helped block for Cody Schrader's 148 yards rushing and an offense which averaged 5.5 yards per rush and 7.6 yards per play. Mizzou topped the 500-yard mark for total offense for the fifth time this season, including four in SEC play.

Mevis was 4-for-4 in field goals, from 22, 38, 24 and the 30-yard game winner with five seconds remaining. Earlier this season had a 61-yard game-winning field goal against Kansas State.

His 15-point outing hiked his career total to 401, becoming the eighth kicker in SEC history to surpass the 400-point mark, and Mevis surpassed Georgia's Rodrigo Blankenship and Alabama's Leigh Tiffin for third on the SEC all-time career field goals list (84).

He averaged 64.0 yards per kickoff with touchbacks on six of eight kicks.
