Nebraska baseball remains solidly on top of the Big Ten Conference standings despite taking a loss Sunday.

The Huskers took two of three games from Ohio State over the weekend in Lincoln to improve to 22-7 on the year and 5-1 in the league. The Buckeyes fell to 13-14 and 3-3.

Nebraska took the Friday game 3-0 thanks to a complete-game shutout from Brett Sears. Ohio State managed just two hits Sears notched his seventh consecutive quality start in improving to 6-0.

The bats were needed in a big way Saturday as Nebraska used a six-run fifth inning to erase a two-run deficit. The Huskers would win 7-3. Dylan Carey got the scoring started with a two-run home run while Cayden Brumbaugh tallied a double and a triple.

Sunday saw Nebraska fall behind early again, but this time the Huskers never mounted a comeback. Ohio State took the series finale 9-3.
