Tight End Jack Utz Talks Nebraska Offer and What He Likes About Marcus Satterfield

Coordinator's use of TEs is important to 2026 prospect from Missouri

A program can't afford to focus solely on the current recruiting class. The key to commitments further down the road is building relationships early on.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have been doing just that with 2026 tight end Jack Utz from Platte County High School in Platte City, Missouri.

The 6-foot-4 Utz has the attention of plenty of schools, including Nebraska, Baylor, Kansas, Arkansas and more.

He recently caught up with HuskerMax to provide an inside look at his recruitment.

“It was great to receive my offer,” Utz stated. “Nebraska has a great program that’s on the rise, and it’s an honor to receive an offer from them. Nebraska’s brand new facilities are top of the line when it comes to what’s best for the athlete and their progression.”

He has visited Nebraska in the past, and he speaks highly of the coaching staff and Marcus Satterfield in particular.

“During the visit, all of the coaches were great and very friendly and sincere. My position coach is unique because he’s also the offensive coordinator, which is special because he uses tight ends often.”

Many schools have turned away from tight ends in some packages, so for Utz the usage of tight ends is something he must look at in his recruitment.

He is not ready to commit to a school just yet.

“Right now I’m just taking everything in,” he said. “I am blessed to be in the situation I’m in. Right now everything is completely open.”
