Why he chose Northwestern:
Adeyi was committed to Boise State for just over one month before reopening his recruitment and quickly committing to Northwestern. The cornerback was swayed by the Wildcats’ impressive victory over Wisconsin last season, a win driven by a defensive performance that held the Badgers to a single touchdown.
“Them being so good academically and this year going 5-0 in the Big Ten made the decision pretty easy for me,” Adeyi told 247 Sports during the Wildcats’ 2020-21 season. “I can go play for some of the best coaches in the Big Ten and get a Top 10 education.”
“Their ability to play defense, I feel like Northwestern plays the best defense in the Big Ten and that’s the type of team I want to join,” he added.

Evaluation:
Adeyi uses his natural awareness and a speed honed on the track to make plays on both sides of the ball. The five-foot-ten, 175-pounder ended his high school career with 40 tackles and four interceptions, as well as two touchdowns, 216 receiving yards and 119 yards rushing.
Playing time projection:
Both of the Wildcats’ starting cornerback roles have yet to be filled, so Adeyi and five other teammates will face off in pursuit of the two positions. This competition will give the freshman an opportunity to show off his skills and earn a spot in Northwestern’s CB rotation.
