Notre Dame Climbs To No. 9 In The AP Poll

Irish move up one spot after being the Cavaliers
Matt Cashore, USA TODAY Sports

Notre Dame has moved up to No. 9 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Irish were No. 10 a week ago but were bolstered by a 35-20 victory over Virginia, who was ranked No. 18 in last week's poll.

The Fighting Irish leap-frogged Florida, who fell to No. 10 despite a 38-0 victory over FCS opponent Towson. Virginia remains in the Top 25, falling to No. 23.

Notre Dame has just one game remaining against a current Top 25 team, and that is Oct. 26 when the Irish travel to Michigan, who is currently ranked No. 19 in the AP Poll.

Like the Coaches Poll, Alabama leap-frogged Clemson and Ohio State leap-frogged LSU.
