Mailbag: Talking Notre Dame Football and Recruiting

The Notre Dame football topics were thorough in the latest Irish Breakdown mailbag. The questions covered aspects of the entire team, questions about the Irish offense, thoughts about the Notre Dame defense and plenty of questions about Fighting Irish recruiting.

Many of the questions were about what it takes for Notre Dame to take the next step as a program. There were so many questions that we had to break the mailbag into two episodes.

Part one of the mailbag covers the big picture topics about Notre Dame football and then moves onto the questions about the Irish offense. This is where the more pointed questions were.

Part two of the mailbag dives into questions about the Notre Dame defense and Notre Dame recruiting. There are questions about whether or not DC Marcus Freeman is a possible coach in waiting, and whether or not his ultimate replacement is already on staff. Most of the recruiting questions were about the 2021 class, but we do talk about some early top targets in 2022.
