SI Staff Split On Notre Dame/Michigan

It seems that some of the college football staff members at Sports Illustrated view the matchup of Notre Dame vs. Michigan much closer than Irish fans do, and closer than most bettors appear to view it.
In its weekly picks, three Sports Illustrated writers picked Notre Dame while three others picked Michigan. Of the 12 games picked by the staff, the Notre Dame/Michigan matchup was the only one that was split down the middle.
Lorenzo Arguello, who has the best winning percentage on the season among the SI writers, picked Notre Dame, as did Michael Shapiro and Laken Litman.
Ross Dellenger, Max Meyer and Molly Geary all picked the home team.
Shapiro write this about why he picked Notre Dame:
"Jim Harbaugh will fall to 1–13 against top-10 teams at Michigan with a loss to Notre Dame on Saturday, and the Fighting Irish should take care of business on the road. Notre Dame will expose the bad Shea Patterson, creating an uphill battle for the Wolverines against a top-15 defense. A four-loss regular season looms for Harbaugh & Co."
Notre Dame opened the week as a four-point underdog but the latest odds have it even, which means most of the money, at least most of the early money, has gone for the Irish.
