Defensive Lineman Javeon Campbell Puts Notre Dame In His Top 9 Schools
Talented defensive lineman Javeon Campbell included Notre Dame in his list of nine programs he'll choose from
Talented 2025 Frankfurt (Ky.) Western Hills defensive lineman Javeon Campbell has been a hot prospect this offseason, earning the attention of several big time schools. That list includes Notre Dame who offered him back in January shortly after he visited campus.
Campbell has started to narrow down his list of schools, and Notre Dame was one of the programs that made the list. The 6-5, 260-pound defensive lineman put the Fighting Irish in his final list of nin schools. Notre Dame was joined by Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Miami, Florida, Auburn and Kentucky.
When you talk about fast risers, there isn’t a defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class that fits that billing better than Campbell. He is currently ranked by 247Sports, On3 and Rivals, sitting as a three-recruit and ranked within the top four players in the state of Kentucky in the 2025 recruiting class. The size, the impressive film, the list if suitors, and how hot programs are after him, shows that his ranking should be higher.
Obviously his offer list tells a different story than that modest ranking, holding offers from the Irish, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, Michigan State, Louisville, Minnesota, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Cincinnati and Vanderbilt among others.
Despite it being just his first year playing high school football, Campbell was absolutely dominant as a junior. In just eight games, he recorded 14.5 sacks for Western Hills. Campbell was selected as a First Team All-District selection. He is also one of the top basketball players in the state. There is little doubt that Campbell is just starting to scratch the surface of how good he can be. As he gets more and more comfortable playing football there is a chance his game will take off, giving him one of the higher ceilings on the Notre Dame board.
