Notre Dame Impressed Elite LB Noah Mikhail During Impactful Visit

Notre Dame made a strong impression on linebacker Noah Mikhail during his most recent visit

Notre Dame is busy hosting an impressive list of talented 2025 and 2026 recruits this spring. That includes 2025 Verne (Calif.) Bonita linebacker Noah Mikhail, who made his return trip to South Bend for the first time since last offseason.

This was a massive opportunity for the Irish to impress Mikhail, who is one of the top overall defenders in the 2025 recruiting class. A potential commitment is coming later this offseason, making the timing and success of this trip vital.

“The visit was great,” Mikhail told Irish Breakdown. “I really enjoyed being able to watch practice and sit in on the meetings. It really gave me a deeper understanding of how I can fit in. The conversations were more personable now that we have built that relationship with them. We were able to get some football talk in as well. They have always prioritized me and I really appreciate that.”

One of the biggest sells for Mikhail is his natural playmaking ability from the inside of a defense. He also brings a combination of length and athleticism that could allow him to do a lot of different things for a defense. That was a huge part of the Notre Dame pitch.

“They have three different positions that we went over that they could potentially see me playing,” said Mikhail. “The staff really likes the versatility I bring to the table.”

It seems like Notre Dame has been along the finalists for the California native for a long time. While the Irish have their work cut out for them down the stretch, Mikhail made it very well known that they will be a part of the final decision. There have been no major decisions make, just information gathered.

“They are in consideration without question, and have been for a long time,” Mikhail explained. “After this spring season finishes, I will have more of an idea on the whole picture. These next few weeks are to really narrow things down.”

The 6-3, 210-pound defender is being pursued by some of the top programs in college football. Some of his top offers currently include the Irish, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, Texas, Miami, Oregon, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Washington, Arkansas, Arizona, Ole Miss, Michigan State, UCLA, Utah, Colorado, Stanford, Boston College, Arizona State and Cal among others.

Mikhail is considered a consensus top 100 recruit by every major recruiting platform. He ranks highest on the On3 ranking. They currently have Mikhail pegged as the No. 43 overall player and No. 7 linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class.

The California native is coming off of a stellar junior campaign for the Bonita Bearcats. In 12 games, Mikhail led the squad with 166 total and 15 tackles for loss. Mikhail also had one sack, two interceptions and three pass breakups on the season.
