Ohio State’s Kylee Kitts Battles South Carolina’s Chloe Kitts in Offseason Shooting Competition

Over the weekend, Kylee Kitts, a 6-foot-4 guard and forward for the Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball team, was seen working out with her sister, South Carolina forward Chloe Kitts, basketball trainer Chris Hyppa and his son Jalen Hyppa, who plays at South Puget Sound.

According to Inevitable Athlete, the workout began with some reactive hand-eye coordination drills before moving into stationary ball-handling drills. Then they transitioned into working on drills around the rim that consisted of close catch and shoot and finishing through contact in the paint.

They would continue with their catch and shoot drills as they worked their way further away from the basket towards the three-point line. After they moved behind the Arc they started competing against each other. Chris Hyppa instructed the three participants to a contested shooting drill and whoever was first to make five shots from the spot won the round.

Kylie Kitts caught fire, winning the first round, while her sister Chloe hit five in a row from the second spot, and Jalen would take the third round. Chloe would win the tiebreaker. Both Kitts sisters would then have a shooting content to see who could make the most threes in a minute.

At one point Chloe and Kylee could not miss. Chloe buried ten straight to start things off and ended up making 20 in total to win the competition. To complete the full competition, Chloe and Jalen played 1v1 first to three points from three different spots. Chloe won the first spot 3-2. Jalen won the second spot 3-2, and Chloe would go on to win it all after a 3-1 victory from the third spot.

Chloe Kitts is returning to South Carolina for her final season in a Gamecock uniform under Dawn Staley. Last season, she missed some time with an ACL injury, which she suffered while rebounding in practice. She is projected as a first-round pick in the 2027 WNBA draft. According to Chris Wellbau of On3, she will bring back leadership and competitiveness, which is something South Carolina was missing last year.

As for her younger sister Kylee, she finished last season as a Redshirt-Freshman, who appeared in 30 games, and made 19 starts. She averaged 7.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and was tied for second on the team in rebounds per game. She even scored her career-high of 18 points on December 7th, 2025, against Northwestern, and again on January 11, 2026, against Maryland.

The Buckeyes would upset the 8th-ranked Maryland 89-76 and solidified them as a top-ten contender at the time, according to Brianna Mac Kay of the Columbus Dispatch.

"They are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country," Ohio State coach Kevin McGuff said. "We end up even on the boards. I think those were two big things - our half court defense and our rebounding. We wouldn't have won this game a month ago. We just weren't good enough in either one of those areas. To our players' credit, we've gotten a lot better."
