Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka Names His Mount Rushmore of Buckeyes WRs

The Ohio State Buckeyes have produced three first-round wide receivers in the past two drafts.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have recently added to the list of great wide receiver prospects to come through Columbus with Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave and Jaxon Smith-Njigba all being first-round NFL Draft picks in the past two seasons.

Buckeyes receiver Emeka Egbuka, who could be the next first-round picks in 2024, was asked by program assistant Devin Jordan who his Mount Rushmore of Ohio State pass-catchers were. He said he has "three off the top of my head."

"My first one would definitely have to be Cris Carter just because of the legacy of the wide receiver he is, wore No. 2. I got to have him in there. He's in the Hall of Fame, too, so I got to have him," Egbuka said.

And from there?

"Ted Ginn. Michael Thomas. Those are my three and then, four, they could go to a lot of guys," Egbuka said. "You could want to name some current ones or maybe you could even name Coach Hart, himself, just because he had a great career in the league but what he's doing now, pumping out these first-round talents so maybe I'll go with Coach Hart as my fourth."

Egbuka will continue to write his Ohio State story next season, coming off one of the more well-rounded seasons for a wide receiver in Buckeyes program history. He has 83 career receptions, 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns after a solid 2022 campaign.

A former five-star and top receiver in the recruiting class of 2021, he and Marvin Harrison Jr. are two of the best returning wideouts in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

He and Harrison will look to take some of the pressure off whoever the Buckeyes' new signal caller is in 2023.
