With the new season almost upon us, we should definitely highlight who the big playmakers will be. Some already known, but may not be understood.

With the acquisition of Justin Fields, Ohio State will be solid at QB. But, they and Buckeye Nation feel the same way at running back. Junior JK Dobbins will be back again, to carry the load.

Ohio State has questions on the back to try to get in the 2020 recruiting class. But, they have to feel good about the present time though.

In two years, sometimes splitting carries with Mike Weber, Dobbins has ran for almost 2,500 yards on 424 carries. Due to Mike Weber being healthier in 2018, Dobbins production dropped from 2017, just a bit.

A second back behind Dobbins has not yet emerged, says Head Coach Ryan Day. We could see Demario McCall get some carries, or possibly sophomore Master Teague.

JK Dobbins very well could have a heisman type of year. Should get more carries with Mike Weber off to the NFL, and has became more lead, said Day.

Dobbins is a quick shifty back, that is going to take it to some Big Ten teams this season.

In 2020, Ohio State has missed out on a pair of five star backs as of late. But, could Columbus native Mike Drennen be an option?

The four star back would play more in space, as he isn’t a between the tackles runner. But, he could take a hand full of carries a game and make it work. Just an option for the Buckeyes to keep open.
