OU Softball: Weekend Schedule for Big 12 Opener Against Iowa State Adjusted for Weather

With the possibility of bad weather looming in Norman, the Sooners have shifted their schedule for this weekend's series against Iowa State.

On Thursday, Oklahoma announced a scheduling change to its three-game series against Iowa State this weekend.

The Sooners were originally slated to take on the Cyclones Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday,  at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

With thunderstorms expected to hit the Norman area on Friday, however, OU and Iowa State agreed to move Friday's contest to Saturday evening at 5 p.m., creating a double-header on Saturday.

In the release, Oklahoma also announced that tickets to Friday's rescheduled game will be honored for the Sooners' Saturday evening matchup.

According to the National Weather Service, Norman is under marginal risk of severe storms and could see golf ball-sized hail and wind gusts of up to 60 MPH. The area is also expected to get around half an inch of rainfall.

The Oklahoma baseball team also adjusted its weekend schedule in anticipation of rain this weekend.

Oklahoma got back to its winning ways on Wednesday night with a 9-0 win over Texas A&M Commerce in five innings, moving OU to 19-1 on the year.

This weekend's series against Iowa State is the final Big 12 opener for the Sooners before Patty Gasso's team heads to the Southeastern Conference in 2025.
