STILLWATER -- No more waiting, no more speculation; as Cade Cunningham put it in his commitment video, "blood is always thicker than water." Oklahoma State lands a commitment from the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Cunningham commits to Oklahoma State over his list of top schools that include a who's who of blue blood programs: North Carolina, Kentucky, Florida and Washington, all of which he took official visits to.

The decision comes just eight days before the start of the November signing period that runs from Nov. 13-20, and just a few days ahead of Cunningham's scheduled unofficial visit this coming Saturday.

He also marks the top overall prospect to commit to Oklahoma State since Gerald Green in 2005.

Cade Cunningham is a 6-6, 215-pound combo guard that Mike Boynton and Co. have been in on since day one. The Pokes were the first to offer Cunningham back in 2017 and have kept him at the top of the recruiting board since the offer.

"Great size, strength and athleticism for a combo guard who projects as a NBA point guard. Has top-notch body control and explosive athleticism. Adept at making plays in traffic. Attacks the rim with fury. Sees the court and delivers accurate passes on the move. Quality multi positional defender and rebounder. Long distance shooting needs improving but is progressing. Projects as a high lottery pick." -Jerry Meyer, 247Sports Director of Basketball Scouting.

Cunningham is actually projected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Every Oklahoma State fan has been on pins and needles since the 2020 recruiting class went live, especially when Oklahoma State hired Cunningham's brother, Cannen, as an assistant coach earlier this year.

But Cade has maintained that even with his brother at Oklahoma State, he was going to weigh all his options and choose the school that was the best fit for him. When watching the commitment video, he even mentions that even with his brother at Oklahoma State, it wasn't a guarantee that he would wind up in Stillwater.

I think I can speak for the fan base that the video that Cowboy basketball released as soon as the commitment went live is how everyone is feeling.

Cunningham marks the second commitment in the 2020 class, as he joins his EBYL teammate Rondel Walker. Walker is a four-star shooting guard out of Putnam City West in Oklahoma City. Walker checks in as the No. 91 overall prospect in the country and the No. 17 overall shooting guard in the 2020 class.
