Oklahoma State is making an in-state splash in the transfer portal.

Former Oklahoma high school basketball star Micah Gray signed with OSU on Wednesday. OSU coach Jacie Hoyt has made numerous moves in the portal in her two offseasons in Stillwater and has recruited a potential star guard to play next season.

Gray has spent the past two seasons at different spots. Last season, she started 31 games for Seton Hall and helped the Pirates to a 17-15 season. As the second-leading scorer for Seton Hall, she averaged 11.9 points and made a considerable improvement from 3-point range, shooting 33.6% on nearly seven attempts per game.

"Her shooting and scoring ability will fit perfectly into the way we want to play offensively,” Hoyt said. “Most importantly, she's got the character and drive that's a perfect fit for our Cowgirl culture."

Before transferring to Seton Hall, Gray spent her freshman season at Texas Southern. Despite winning only two games, Gray shined for the Tigers.

She led the team in scoring at 16.7 points per game and earned Southwest Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-SWAC honors. While at Texas Southern, Gray scored a career-high 41 points against Arkansas Pine-Bluff. As with most other games her freshman season, the Tigers lost, with Gray’s teammates combining for only 30 points.

However, she was a part of plenty of winning before beginning her college career. Gray won the 4A state title at Classen SAS in Oklahoma City in 2022.

A 1,000-point scorer in high school, Gray helped Classen SAS rank No. 6 nationally by ESPN. Now back in Oklahoma, Gray will look to help the Cowgirls compete in the Big 12 and get back to the NCAA Tournament.

"We are thrilled to bring Micah back to her home state,” Hoyt said. “Oklahoma kids are very important to us and to add one of Micah's caliber is exciting.”
