Cowboy Baseball: Pokes Pick Up Commitment from Santa Fe Shortstop

STILLWATER -- It's been a busy week for Cowboy baseball as they're preparing for the start of the 2019-20 season. They teamed up with football to offer 2020 dual-sport athlete Nolan McLean out of Garner, NC. They also picked up a commitment from talented in-state shortstop Cayden Brumbaugh.
Excited to announce that I have committed to play baseball at Oklahoma State University! Special thanks to coaches, family and friends that have helped me get to where I am today. #gopokes pic.twitter.com/fyS1SJD6YY

He joins Dominic Johnson of Santa Fe who's currently committed in the 2020 class.
Brumbaugh is currently in his junior season with Edmond Santa Fe, meaning he's in the class of 2021. Santa Fe and Brumbaugh are coming off a great 2018-19 season that saw them roll through some of the best in the state and finish with a win over Broken Arrow to claim the 6A State Title.
In fact, it was current Oklahoma State freshman defensive end Trace Ford who hit the game-winning grand slam, the first of his varsity grand slam to give Santa Fe the 9-7 win over Jenks that sent them to the championship game with Broken Arrow. The Wolves would finish the season 28-12 overall and 9-4 in district play.
As a sophomore, Brumbaugh had a solid season last year that was above the national Max Preps averages. He hit .256 last season with 10 homers, 10 RBIs, scored 13 runs, had an on base percentage (OBP) of .412 and a field percentage of .789.
According to Prep Baseball Report, he also has a 60 time of 6.64 seconds, an infield position velocity of 84, an exit velocity (hitting) of 94 MPH and his home to 1st time is 4.21.
His start time in Stillwater is still a few years off, but Brumbaugh is a solid pick up for the Pokes and will only get better before he wears the orange and black in the new O'Brate Stadium.
