The Pittsburgh Steelers had a wild run to make the playoffs this season as former Oklahoma State star quarterback Mason Rudolph got three straight starts under center to end the regular season.

Winning each of the games he started in for the regular season, Rudolph earned a start for the Steelers' lone playoff game. He fell short of a win, as the Buffalo Bills took the game 31-17 as the Steelers' comeback attempt fell short.

"I love the Pittsburgh Steelers. They've been my only home for six years," Rudolph said. "We'll see what happens. It's not really my decision. A lot of it's out of my control so we'll see what happens."

In his time as the starter, Rudolph proved he was capable of playing NFL football at a level in which he could generate wins. The Steelers might want to return to giving Kenny Pickett starts, meaning Rudolph would have to find a new home to hopefully play quarterback in a starter role. He spoke on his future after the loss in Buffalo.

"I think right now - obviously, the plan was to come here and get a win and we fell short, fell short to a great team," Rudolph said. "But I think I was proud of what we as an offense put on tape the past few weeks with just the way we celebrated, the way guys cheered for each other, the run game was working, the receivers were rolling. ... We had chemistry, we had belief and we had love for one another."

In the loss to the Bills, Rudolph threw for 229 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, completing 22 of his 39 passes. Ultimately, it wasn't enough as the Steelers' season came to a close.

"I have no idea what's going to happen. None of us in there know what's going to happen tomorrow, much less next year," Rudolph said. "I'm sort of, yeah, I'm still thinking about the game and the loss and it hurts and it stings. ... That's what's on the forefront of the mind right now."

Evidently, Rudolph could look for an opportunity similar to former Oklahoma Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield. He joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and took advantage of the opportunity, even winning a playoff game.

In his four games, the former Oklahoma State star totaled 719 passing yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions while completing 74.3 percent of his passes. It'll be interesting to see how he approaches his future in the league.
