A former Oklahoma State football player may not get his wish to transfer.

On Friday, former OSU offensive lineman Tyrone Webber tweeted that he was denied a mental health diagnosis from his former school, presumably OSU. According to his post, that may prevent him from transferring.

Webber announced his intention to enter the transfer portal earlier this month. While his transfer portal announcement only came a few days ago, Webber had not been on the Cowboys’ football team in more than a year.

Webber left OSU during the 2022 season for personal reasons. His time at OSU spanned only one season.

However, if Webber’s transfer concerns do not clear up, it is possible he could play for the Cowboys again.

In the 2022 campaign, Webber played in only four games, the three nonconference matchups and one Big 12 game against Baylor. While his time at OSU did not lead to much playing time, Webber was a highly touted recruit.

He came in as a four-star prospect after playing at New Mexico Military Institute. Webber was also rated as the No. 2 junior college prospect and best offensive lineman in the nation by 247Sports.

Before choosing OSU, Webber had offers from a number of power five schools, including Big 12 rivals TCU, West Virginia and Texas Tech. At his junior college stop, Webber was named the conference's most valuable player, along with being named a first-team all-conference player.

Webber is originally from St. Catharine’s, ON, Canada. The Canadian also played his high school ball at Notre Dame Catholic.

Webber ended his transfer portal announcement with, “Football, I am back.” Whether he is playing in Stillwater or elsewhere, he looks to be in a position to make his return to the field sometime in 2024.
