A former Cowboy has transferred once again.

Offensive lineman Monroe Mills is transferring for the second time in his college career. He is heading to Louisville this time after spending two seasons with Texas Tech.

But before he made the decision to play in Lubbock, Mills spent two seasons at Oklahoma State. With OSU, Mills played sparingly. The offensive lineman saw the field in just two games throughout his career with OSU.

In 2020, he played in the Cowboys’ win in the regular season finale at Baylor and the 2021 Homecoming blowout against Kansas. Mills came to OSU after a successful high school career but could not play as a senior with an ACL injury.

As the No. 23 player in Missouri, Mills played at Father Tolton, where he was also a wrestler. In 2018, he earned all-state and all-district honors to earn offers from a number of Power Five schools.

While he struggled to find the field at OSU, Mills quickly earned a starting spot at Texas Tech. In his sophomore season, he started 10 games at right tackle and allowed only one sack that season.

In that 2022 campaign, Mills made a trip back to Stillwater in his only matchup against the Cowboys. The Red Raiders fell in that contest 41-31 against an undefeated Cowboys team.

In 2023, Texas Tech never faced OSU but went 6-6 in the regular season, including a 5-4 record in Big 12 play. Mills played in each of the team’s 12 regular season games and helped Texas Tech play a factor in the Big 12 standings into the final weeks of the season.

Mills will look to have a similar role at Louisville, which is coming off a 10-3 season with an ACC Championship appearance. While his time at OSU did not work out, Mills has still found himself in the middle of winning situations throughout his college career.
