Is Chuba Hubbard the best running back in the country? Yes, but he might also be the best player in all of college football

STILLWATER -- Yes, you read the headline correctly, the man that so many Oklahoma State fans is out to get the Pokes said he believes that Chuba Hubbard is the best player in all of college football.

In the video, he says that the obvious answers he could go with are OU's Jalen Hurts, Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa, LSU's Joe Burrow, or even Ohio State's Justin Fields.

But let's be honest, how could he not choose Chuba?

Through the first five games of the season, Hubbard has amassed a mind-blowing 938 yards on the ground with 10 touchdowns. I know he played behind Justice Hill last year for the first part of the season, but he's already surpassed his own totals from last by 198 yards!

Herbie goes on to talk about how Tylan Wallace in his own right could be one of the best, but that it would be unfair to the nation's leading rusher not to have him at the top.

I mean, just take a look at his stats; His 938 net yards this season is 379 yards more than Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor, who incidentally enough is ahead of Chuba in the Heisman race.

His 296 yards against Kansas State marked the highest total of rushing yards this season, but Hubbard also has the No. 2 and No. 6 rushing performances this season as well.

I'd have to say that the only thing I don't agree with Herbstreit on is when he said that he was 'going off the grid' to pick Hubbard. It's not like he plays for New Mexico State or Rutgers or Wyoming, Chuba plays for a Power Five team that's been a top-25 program for the past 10 years.
