STILLWATER -- Saturday was an important day for Oklahoma State football. Not only did they upset No. 23 Iowa State on the road in Ames, but the in also snapped a six-game Big 12 road losing streak, and a two-game regular season losing streak. It was also important for OSU linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez who was tabbed the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

This marks Rodriguez's first Player of the Week honors for the 2019-20 season.

The junior linebacker's 11 tackles on the game lead all players from both sides, and he also recorded one pass break up. But it was his fourth quarter pick six that not only vaulted him to Defensive Player of the Week honors, but sealed Oklahoma State's win over Iowa State.

Prior to the start of the season, Rodriguez was shifted down to linebacker from safety due to depth concerns in the middle of the field. Since being moved, Rodriguez has thrived.

On the season, Rodriguez leads the Cowboy defense with 66 tackles, 38 of which have been solo stops. He's also recorded three pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, and the forced fumble and recovery last week against Baylor.

The pick six interception against Iowa State marked his first interception on the season.

Rodriguez and Oklahoma State are at home this week and will host the TCU Horned Frogs, who are fresh off a 37-27 upset of No. 15 Texas. Kick off is slated for 2:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN.
