Five impact players for Oklahoma State vs. Baylor

Spencer Sanders is entering his sixth start of his young career at Oklahoma State and will be looking to overcome some struggles he experienced against Texas Tech.

With it being Homecoming, Oklahoma State is wearing a special helmet honoring the Cowboys teams of the 1970's.

Pregame:

-Baylor has won the toss and deferred to the second half. Oklahoma State to receive the opening kick in the East end zone.

First quarter:

-An OSU punt leads to a three play drive and a Baylor touchdown (12:06) Oklahoma State trails 7-0.

TOUCHDOWN! Spencer Sanders finds Jordan McCray in the back of the end zone for the score! (6:37) Oklahoma State trails 7-6 after Baylor blocked the extra point.

FUMBLE! Malcolm Rodriguez strips the ball away from JaMycal Hasty after an 18 yard gain! First down Oklahoma State from their own 43-yard line!

END OF THE FIRST QUARTER:

It was a rather back and forth first quarter for both teams. Oklahoma State enters the second quarter trailing 7-6. Quarterback Spencer Sanders is 7-of-11 for 44 yards and one touchdown, while running back Chuba Hubbard has seven carries for 44 yards.

There were really two highlights of the first quarter that you can watch above: Sanders' fade to McCray in the end zone and Malcolm Rodriguez's strip and fumble recovery.

Following the strip, the Cowboy defense has shown new life as they've held Baylor to just two yards on this drive. It's 3rd and 8 from the Baylor 15-yard line.

Second quarter:

SACK! Jayden Jernigan with the stop forcing a Baylor punt! 1st and 10 from the OSU 41-yard line after the fair catch.

SACK! Trace Ford starts the tackle and it's finished by Mike Scott! 4th and 3624 for the Bears from their own seven-yard line! 1st and 10 for the Pokes from the Baylor 46-yard line.

TOUCHDOWN! Chuba Hubbard finds the end zone from two-yards out (4:15) Oklahoma State leads 13-7 after a made Ammendola extra point!

Field goal: Baylor knocks home a field goal to bring the game to three (1:32) Oklahoma State leads 13-10.

END OF THE SECOND QUARTER

Spencer Sanders throws an interception in the end zone trying to hit Jordan McCray.

Spencer Sanders: 13-of-21 for 97 yards, one touchdown and one interception

Chuba Hubbard: 13 carries for 87 yards and one touchdown

Jelani Woods: Five receptions for 38 yards.

Third quarter:

Baylor receives the opening kick. Oklahoma State forces another Baylor punt. 1st and 10 following a 22-yard return from the OSU 40-yard line.

WOW! After a rather uninspired opening set of downs for the Pokes, punter Tom Hutton hits Dayton Metcalf for 20-yards and the first down!

TOUCHDOWN! Chuba Hubbard gets back into the end zone from three yards out (9:35) Oklahoma State leads 20-10!

Touchdown: Hasty gets into the end zone from five yards out for the score (8:42) OSU leads 20-17.

Touchdown: Brewer finds Fleeks for 64-yards and the score (2:36) OSU now trails 24-20. A couple of defensive breakdowns and Baylor's back in the lead. Let's see if the OSU offense can respond.

END OF THE THIRD QUARTER

Baylor scores two third quarter touchdowns to take the lead back 24-20. It wasn't a great quarter for the Pokes as the offense couldn't get anything going other than an early touchdown by Hubbard, and the defense couldn't stay off the field.

The two touchdowns from Baylor were on big time drives by Charlie Brewer and were aided by a couple of OSU penalties.

The highlight of the quarter was a fourth down fake punt pass by Tom Hutton to Dayton Metcalf that went for 20 yards leading to the three-yard touchdown by Chuba Hubbard.

Spencer Sanders: 16-26 for 140 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Chuba Hubbard: 22 carries for 107 yards and two touchdown.

Tylan Wallace: Five receptions for 61 yards.

Fourth quarter:

TOUCHDOWN! Running back LD Brown finally breaks loose and goes for 68-yards and the score! (12:55) Oklahoma State's back on top 27-24!

Touchdown: Brewer gets into the end zone from two-yards out for the score (9:04) OSU trails 31-27.

Touchdown: Baylor with the scoop and score after the fumble by Spencer Sanders (8:00) OSU trails 38-27.

Turnover on downs for OSU, Sanders' pass intended for Wallace was broken up in the end zone. 1st and 10 Baylor.

Touchdown: Hasty takes one play, 73-yards to the end zone (5:13) OSU trails 45-27.

To make matters worse, on the ensuing drive, Sanders suffered his second fumble of the day.

FINAL: Oklahoma State falls to 4-3 on the season with the 45-27 loss to Baylor.

Spencer Sanders: 18-32 for 157 yards and one touchdown and one interception. 14 carries for a net of 31 yards and two sacks. He also lost two fumbles.

Chuba Hubbard: 32 carries for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

Tylan Wallace: Six receptions for 69 yards.

Rather short kick to start the game and LD Brown returns the ball 14 yards to the OSU 20. 1st and 10

Not a great start for the Pokes, pass interference on Jelani Woods on the first play of the game.

Woods with some redemption as he picks up a nine-yard pick up, but Sanders sails a pass on the next play resulting in a Cowboy punt.

Missed sack there from Ogbongbemiga results in a big pick up by Brewer. Defense needs to step up early

Yikes, poor tackling on defense leads to an early Baylor touchdown. Cowboys are really going to need to step it up today.

Some really nice moves there by Chuba to pick up 11 and the first down.

Sanders making some good plays for short yardage, but is struggling to connect on the intermediate passes so far today.

Sanders making something out of nothing on that play. Should've been a sack, but he ducks out of the hit, scrambles and hits Hubbard for a few yards.

Pokes looking to get into the end zone here.

WOW! Nice little fade pass to the back corner of the end zone from Sanders to Jordan McCray! Pokes trail by one following Baylor blocking the extra point. That's McCray's second touchdown on the season.

Big time strip and recovery there by Malcolm Rodriguez. Need the defense to keep clicking now.

Cowboys needed that third down pick up and Spencer Sanders came in CLUTCH picking up nine yards. 1st and 10

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Pokes need another third down conversion here.

Another offensive penalty for OSU results in a fourth down. Hutton with a big punt though goes 50 that puts Baylor on their own eight yard line.

Zach Lancaster

After a couple of great stops, OSU allows a 17-yard pick up on 3rd and long. 1st down Baylor from their own 32-yard line.

Cowboys bailed out by a late holding call on Baylor. Would've been a first down for the Bears. Replay the down, but 3rd and 12.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Good stop there for the defense. 1st and 10 from the OSU 41-yard line.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

There's an incredibly rare drop by Tylan Wallace. Wouldn't expect to see too many more of those.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Hold on Teven Jenkins results in a 4th and long. It negates the first down pick up by Hubbard. 1st and 10 Baylor from their own 13-yard line.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Another missed tackle on Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer results in a 21-yard gain and a first down instead of a sack. Yikes.

Big break the next play as Brewer drops the ball resulting in an 11-yard loss.

Delay of game for BU before they could get a play off. 2nd and 25

Targeting on Baylor's Chris Miller is upheld as it was a helmet to helmet hit on Tylan Wallace. 1st and goal for OSU from the Baylor 12-yard line.

Great hard run there by Hubbard to get into the end zone for his first score of the game. Baylor 1st and 10 from their own 25-yard line.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Brewer finds a wide open Hasty who takes it 73-yards for the score, but a holding call negates it. First and 10 from the OSU 20.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Brock Martin went down with an injury, but is walking off the field under his own power. Cowboys certainly can't afford to lose him.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

HUGE stop in the end zone by Kolby Harvell-Peel forcing a Baylor field goal attempt!

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

The field goal is good, OSU leads 13-10.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

That's a GREAT pick up there by Hubbard, 31-yards for the 1st and goal from the Baylor 10. Pokes still have three timeouts left on the board with :39 left in the half.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Not great: Sanders throws an interception in the end zone, pass intended for Jordan McCray. 18-yards on the return, :19 left in the half.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

That's the end of the first half, Pokes lead 13-10. Baylor will receive after halftime.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Nothing going for the OSU offense as Baylor forces a four and out. A very vanilla set of downs

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

NEVER MIND! Tom Hutton with fake punt pass for 20 yards! 1st and 10 from the Baylor 37 yard line!

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Not great. Brewer to Thornton goes for 78-yards to the OSU five yard line. That was followed by an easy five yard touchdown run for Hasty. OSU leads 20-17.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Another Cowboy drive not going anywhere means another Hutton punt. 1st and 10 for Baylor from their own seven yard line. This OSU team is rather up and down today. On one drive, the defense will be playing what seems to be their best ball all season long, then follow it up with completely falling apart. Same with the offense at times.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Yikes. Brewer finds Fleeks for 64-yards and the score. Follow that up by a roughing the passer call on Tuihalamaka towards the end of the play. Baylor leads 24-20 with 2:36 left in the game.

Let's see if the OSU offense can respond.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

A four-yard gain by Hubbard brings up a 4th and 2. Let's see what Gundy decides to do.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

They send Hutton out to punt. 1st and 10 Baylor from their own 25-yard line. Not a great look for the offense over the past few drives. Same for the defense for that matter. Let's see if the Pokes can come up with a stop.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Cowboys up with the stop, Baylor's a yard short of the line to gain. 4th and one

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

LD Brown has been so close on quite a few plays today, and it's only appropriate that the one he breaks loose on goes for a 68-yard touchdown! That was REALLY impressive.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Rodarius Williams got burnt on that pass from Brewer to Fleeks. Went for 44-yards.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

BIG TIME STOP there for Tre Sterling on second down. Four yard loss results in a third and 12.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Another mistake by Williams as he gets called for defensive pass interference. 1st and goal from the OSU two-yard line.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

After two great goal line stops, Brewer's able to get into the end zone. Baylor's back up four, but there's plenty of time for OSU to get back into the end zone. It's going to be interesting to see how the Pokes respond on this drive.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Definitely not what you want when you're on your own 31-yard line, a scoop and score touchdown following a fumble by Spencer Sanders. Pokes trail 11

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

Big fourth down conversion there for OSU, Tylan Wallace made a great diving catch to make it happen.

Zach Lancaster
Zach Lancaster

Editor

It's looks like OSU might've just ran out of time. They're out of timeouts with more than five minutes left in the game and Baylor just went up 18.
