Last week, the Oklahoma State Cowboys fell to No. 23 in the College Football Playoff rankings. It was deserved. They had climbed their way up to No. 15 while riding a winning streak before taking a 45-3 loss on the road against UCF.

After falling to No. 23, it seemed as if the Cowboys were going to fall out of the rankings, as they got down against the Houston Cougars a week ago. They looked like the team that struggled against UCF.

Behind big performances from both Brennan Presley and Ollie Gordon, the Cowboys completed a comeback and defeated Houston 43-30 while absolutely dominating the second half.

The win seemingly got the Cowboys back on track, as they played some very, very good football once they got going, and the rankings reflect such. In the recent College Football Playoff rankings, the Cowboys climbed from No. 23 to No. 20.

the Cowboys next take the field on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT for their final game of the season as they host the BYU Cougars in Boone Pickens Stadium. With the game rides a ticket to Arlington as the Cowboys could see themselves in the Big 12 championship with a win.

With the way the season began, it's incredible to think the Cowboys have spent this much time in the College Football Playoff rankings. They started out with two unimpressive wins before losing to South Alabama at home. The team turned things around after two straight losses and a well-timed bye week.

Since turning things around from the slow start, the Cowboys have looked like a team more than capable of competing for a Big 12 title, and they're in a prime position to do just that as they host the Cougars on Saturday.

The other ranked Big 12 teams are Texas (No. 7), Oklahoma (No. 13) and Kansas State (No. 19).
