Oklahoma State Releases 2020 Football Schedule
STILLWATER -- We might just be halfway through the 2019 season, but that doesn't mean that we can't look ahead at the 2020 schedule! Tuesday morning, Oklahoma State announced the Cowboys 2020 slate and it promises to be a good one.
The Pokes kick things off non-conference play with three-straight games in Boone Pickens Stadium. The season starts on Sept. 3 with a Thursday night match up with Oregon State in Stillwater, marking the fifth game in six years that Oklahoma State will start their season on a Thursday.
The Pokes then face Tulsa on Sept. 12 and Western Illinois on Sept. 19.
The Cowboys will then start Big 12 play with an open date the week of Sept. 26 and then they hit the road to official start Big 12 play. The Pokes head to Ft. Worth to face TCU on Oct. 3, come back to Stillwater to face Iowa State on Oct. 10. Oklahoma State then heads back out on the road as they head to Lawrence to face Kansas on Oct. 17 and then to Norman to face OU on Oct. 24. That marks the earliest Bedlam game since the Pokes faced the Sooners on the same date in 1998.
This next game is where it gets fun and interesting and there's only three components to the equation: Homecoming, Halloween and Texas Tech.
The last time Oklahoma State Texas Tech faced on Halloween night, the Pokes beat Tech in Lubbock 70-53 in 2015. With Oklahoma State looking to get some revenge on Tech having lost two-straight, and looking to avenge the recent Homecoming loss to Baylor, needless to say, the Halloween Homecoming game should be a blast.
The Pokes then head back out onto the road, this time to Waco for a Nov. 7 tilt with Baylor.
Oklahoma State then wraps up the regular season with two out of the final three games being played in Stillwater. West Virginia comes to town on Nov. 14, following by the Pokes heading up to Manhattan, KS for a date with Kansas State on Nov. 21.
The Pokes then wrap up the regular season against, that's right, the Texas Longhorns in Stillwater on Nov. 28 for Senior Night.
The Big 12 Championship Game is set to place the following week, Dec. 5, at Jerry's World in Arlington, TX.
