Oklahoma State is set to face Texas in the Big 12 Conference opener in Austin

It feels like we've been waiting years for this game and it's finally here: Oklahoma State and Texas in the Big 12 Conference opener and this game is set to be a big one. No. 12 Texas in front of a sold-out DKR Texas Memorial Stadium at 6:30 p.m. CT on primetime ABC.

Just last season, Oklahoma State won their fourth-straight against the Longhorns 38-35 on the arm of Taylor Cornelius, the legs of Justice Hill and the hands of Tylan Wallace.

Cornelius was brilliant. In his first career start against the then-ranked No. 9 Longhorns, he went 23-of-34 for 321 yards and three scores, while also rushing the ball 12 times for 23 yards and two touchdowns.

Wallace hauled in 10 receptions for 222 yards and two touchdowns and while Hill led the Pokes in rushing with 23 carries for 92 yards, Chuba Hubbard had nine carries for 80 yards. Fast forward to this season combine that with everything we've seen from Hubbard this season, I think that he'll be able to perform in one of the largest crowds anyone on this Cowboy roster has played in front of.

Oklahoma State brings back a ton of experience for this match up with No. 12 Texas in Austin in front of sold-out crowd. The offensive line is playing better than it has in a few seasons, which has played into the fact that Chuba Hubbard is the nation's leading rusher and Tylan Wallace being the nation's leading receiver.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Spencer Sanders has shown over the weeks that he can handle the pressure and lead his team back from adversity to win handily.

The defense, while at times has struggled, rose to the occasion last week against Tulsa, made the necessary adjustments and held TU to zero points in the second half.

Texas is a different animal that Oregon State, McNeese State and Tulsa combined, but Oklahoma State is looking for their eighth win in the past 10 seasons and Mike Gundy and Co. shouldn't have to do much to get his team up for this game.
