Oklahoma State is losing more depth in the secondary.

Safety Nick Session is entering the transfer portal, according to McClain Baxley of 247Sports. Session is the seventh OSU player to enter the portal since the end of the regular season and the third defensive player.

The redshirt junior saw game action 11 times for the Cowboys in 2023. In his time on the field, he recorded three tackles with a season-high of two in the Cowboys’ upset win against Kansas.

Session began his career with OSU in 2020, playing three games as a freshman. He registered his only tackle that season against Texas.

In 2021, he played just four games but had the highlight of his career in Stillwater. In the fourth quarter of OSU’s blowout against Kansas, Session picked off Miles Kendrick and returned it 27 yards into the red zone for the team’s second-longest interception return of the season.

He also led the team in solo tackles in that game with four, his entire season total. However, he was unable to build on that in 2022, as he missed the entire season due to injury.

Before joining the Cowboys in the spring of 2020, Session played at East High School in Salt Lake City. He was rated the 108th-best safety in the country and was initially committed to Utah State.

He flipped his commitment after visiting OSU, holding other offers from Hawaii, Oregon State and BYU, which could have interest in him again.

Session joined Ladarius Webb Jr. as the two safeties to enter the transfer portal this month. While the Cowboys are losing depth at the position, Bryan Nardo still has plenty of talent at safety.

Young stars such as Kendal Daniels and Cameron Epps solidified their importance to the Cowboys’ defense in 2023, potentially leading to the transfers of Webb and Session.
