Poke Offense Ready to Face Tech Defense

Oklahoma State's offense is confident and ready to face Texas Tech's defense on Saturday

STILLWATER -- Over the past decade, Oklahoma State has had great success against Texas Tech as they've won nine out of the 10 games against the Red Raiders. The one loss came last year in Stillwater as the Pokes fell 41-17 and just seemed outmatched from the jump.

The last time the Pokes were in Lubbock, they came away with the late win 41-34. This time, we're looking at an 11 a.m. kick and redshirt junior receiver Dillon Stoner knows what the Pokes are heading into.

"It's always a hostile environment, rowdy crowd," said Dillon Stoner. "Last time we were there, Mason [Rudolph] hit Marcell [Ateman] to kind of seal the deal. I mean, we know it's going to be a tough place to play against a great team with a lot of great athletes, so we're going to have to be ready to play."

While they're still not the best defense in the conference, Tech's defense has improved over the past two to three seasons. However, the Pokes are facing a defense that looks to be different than the defense they faced last week against Kansas State.

"They do a lot of different things, we've just got to be ready for whatever is thrown at us," said Stoner. "I think we've got a good game plan and we'll be able to do that."

I'd say one of the best game plans in the country; The Pokes enter this contest with the nation's leading rusher in Chuba Hubbard, one of the nation's leading receivers in Tylan Wallace and an electric young quarterback in Spencer Sanders who appears to be getting better with each game.

"I think he's gotten more and more comfortable each game," Stoner said of Sanders. "He's starting to calm down a little bit and I think he's going to continue to do that as games go on."

That trio has been electric all season long and are the main reason why the Pokes are averaging 532.2 yards per game and are going to be one of the main reason the Pokes put up big yards this Saturday.
