Baylor Ranked and Undefeated Coming into Homecoming Week

Baylor was able to squeak by Texas Tech to remain undefeated headed into Homecoming in Stillwater

STILLWATER -- Following yesterday's game between Baylor and Texas Tech, Oklahoma State's best-case scenario has come true: an undefeated Baylor coming into Stillwater for Homecoming.

No. 22 Baylor was able to squeak out the win in double overtime when they held the Red Raiders to a field goal followed by running back JaMycal Hasty finding the end zone from five-yards out to win 33-30.

It certainly wasn't a pretty win for the Bears as quarterback Charlie Brewer threw his first interceptions of the season. He went the first five games of the season without an interception, and he had three against Texas Tech. The Bears also lost a fumble.

Despite all that, like Charlie Brewer tweeted out after the game, "a win is a win" and that's what makes Oklahoma State's Homecoming game against Baylor that much more interesting.

The Cowboys went to Lubbock and got soundly beat by the Red Raiders despite being ranked and having the better team thanks in part to turnovers and undisciplined football. That same Texas Tech team went and played in a very sloppy game against what was supposed to be a really good Baylor team.

So, it begs the question, what teams are we going to see at Homecoming. Are we going to get the Oklahoma State team that played No. 12 Texas to just a six-point loss and soundly handled a ranked Kansas State team? Or a team that greatly struggled against Tech last week?

I don't think we're going to see that team this weekend. For most of the season, we've seen a gritty and talented Spencer Sanders leading the Pokes while making a few freshman mistakes in each game. But he's a fierce competitor and I believe he's dwelled on those mistakes and we're going to see a new Sanders this coming Saturday.

The Cowboys had a much-needed off week this week that was filled with practice and some time off. I think we'll see a much different Cowboy team this coming weekend and we'll get our first glimpse of that tomorrow.

The media will get their chance to speak with head coach Mike Gundy Monday morning and the players on Tuesday afternoon to see just how the Cowboys handled the loss to Tech and how they bounced back.
