OSU Football Could Feel 'Ripple Effect' of Conference Realignment as FSU Explores Options

In this story:
College football has been taken by storm as conference realignment runs rampant. A couple of years ago, Oklahoma and Texas ignited the entire movement by leaving the Big 12 for the SEC. Since then, things have continued to move like wildfire, as programs continue to leave for bigger and better conferences.
How could this impact Oklahoma State in the upcoming offseason? The Big 12 could see a bit more movement as things continue to move.
The team at the center of conference realignment conversations this time around is Florida State -- which makes sense after their College Football Playoff snub.
With this, the Seminoles will reignite conversations to potentially make a move from the ACC, looking to move to a conference that will give them better competition consistently while helping them make more long-term money.
According to Brett McMurphy of Action Network, an FSU conference move "will have an 'Oppenheimer-like' ripple effect."
With Florida State being one of the top TV brands not in the SEC or Big Ten, those two conferences could be the ones to look at the Seminoles to move to, likely taking Clemson with them.
If not either of those two programs, which are set to make some huge additions next season, the Big 12 could then be an option. If having an "Oppenheimer-like" effect is real, conferences could clear the way and make things work by adding those two brands to the conference.
If the Big 12 decided to make those additions, the Cowboys could have some serious trouble over the next few years. As things stand now, the Cowboys seem to be in good shape to compete for Big 12 titles over the next few games. They've made two of the last three conference championship games.
Adding Florida State, whether Clemson joins or not, would arguably add a team capable of winning the title on a yearly basis. Adding Clemson would add another one of those, too.
It'll be interesting to see if anything comes from these conference realignment reports, and how it would impact Oklahoma State and the Big 12 if so.
