STILLWATER -- This week has been the week of commitments for Oklahoma State as the No. 1 pound-for-pound wrestler in the country in the class of 2020, AJ Ferrari, announced his commitment to OSU Wednesday night live from his Instragram.

"All the schools had different benefits, different things to go back and forth on, its been tough with everything, but I think the best school for me and my family for my goals is Oklahoma State University," said Ferrari in the live stream.

Ferrari chose the Pokes over a who's-who of college wrestling: Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers.

The decision also comes after Ferrari was on campus this past weekend for his official visit.

Ferrari is out of Allen, TX and is ranked as the No. 1 wrestler by just about every ranking service in the country I.e Intermat and FloWrestling.

He's certainly going to be closer to home at Oklahoma State, but in a recent interview with True Wrestling, Ferrari had this to say about his personal idol.

"John Smith, I watch a ton of John Smith. I've always watched and idolized him from a young age. He's someone who I really look up to and really want to accomplish the same things as him. Not only what he does on the mat, but also what he does off the mat. He's huge with his family, very tight. Huge Italian family just like me, and I kind of look up to that and I kind of want to aspire to be like that. Not only in wrestling, but outside of wrestling."

He's currently a Cadet World Bronze medalist and the folkstyle national champion and he's set to compete his senior season at 220. As for college, he projects to compete at 197, which will be a huge boost for the Pokes following the graduation of two-time All-American Preston Weigel.
