The Ole Miss Rebels are officially on a losing streak, dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday night by a final score of 9-4 to the Memphis Tigers on the road.

The Rebels (18-12) were locked in a back-and-forth affair with the Tigers for much of the night, but a five-spot from Memphis in the seventh inning put the game out of reach. Wes Mendes drew the start on the hill for Ole Miss, throwing 1.1 innings of one-hit, one-run ball and striking out two. He was relieved by a combination of seven different arms in a true bullpen game from the visitors.

Ole Miss got the scoring started in the top of the first inning on Tuesday night on an RBI double from left fielder Ethan Lege, but Memphis would knot the score at one in the bottom half on an RBI single. The Rebels jumped back in front on a groundout from third baseman Andrew Fischer in the third, but the Tigers would answer again with a solo home run in the bottom half.

After claiming a 3-2 lead in the fourth, Ole Miss fell behind the Tigers for the first time in the bottom of the inning as two runs were plated by Memphis. The Rebels would tie the game in the top of the seventh inning on another Ethan Lege double, but the five runs in the bottom of the frame sealed the game's fate down the stretch.

Ole Miss' most recent win came in last week's midweek action against Austin Peay, and after being swept at home by Kentucky last weekend, the Rebels are truly limping into action against the No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks beginning on Thursday night. First pitch in the series opener in Fayetteville is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
