Ole Miss Overcomes Double-Digit Deficit, Picks Up Home Win Over UT Martin

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels trailed by as many as 12 points in Friday night's game against the UT Martin Skyhawks, but they escaped the SJB Pavilion with a 72-68 win to conclude their season-opening home stand.
Ole Miss trailed the Skyhawks 39-32 at halftime, but it rallied to outscore UT Martin 40-29 in the second half. Matthew Murrell once again led the Rebels in scoring with 16, and Myles Burns also hit double digits with 13 points.
As a team, the Rebels shot 39 percent from the field and 26 percent from three. They turned the ball over 17 times compared to UT Martin's mark of 19, and Ole Miss only went 25-of-38 from the free throw line.
With the win, Ole Miss improves to 4-0 on the year, and it will hit the road for the first time this season for its next contest. The Rebels will participate in the ESPN Events Invitational beginning on Thanksgiving Day when it faces the Stanford Cardinal, and the invitational runs until next Sunday.
Tip-off between Ole Miss and Stanford on Thanksgiving is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
