Lady Rebels 2023 Transfer Portal Class Ranked Top 10 in the Country

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball team took full advantage of the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason after making it to the Sweet 16 for the eleventh time in program history in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Ole Miss coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin was tasked with replacing senior guard Angel Baker, who received First Team All-SEC honors in 2023, and she found forward Kennedy Todd-Williams and guard KK Deans.

247Sports ranked the top 25 transfer classes on Wednesday, now that the portal traffic has started to slow down, and gave Ole Miss the No. 7 class in the country. The entire top 10 is listed below. Six teams in the top 10 belong to the Southeastern Conference.

: Kennedy Todd-Williams (No. 5), KK Deans (No. 24)

Adding Todd-Williams set the tone for the spring in Oxford. The All-ACC selection gives the Rebels a versatile forward which is exactly what the ultra-competitive SEC requires from its elite teams. Yolett McCuin also beefed up her guard room with the addition of Deans. Deans gave Florida consistent minutes, finishing with 14.1 points per game. She should bring that type of steady play with her to Ole Miss.

"Coach Yo" spoke with the media about her transfer portal haul in May.

"I thought we did a great job in the portal," Mcphee-McCuin told reporters. "Last year was a fun year so we really wanted to focus on adding some pieces in the offseason that fit our team, what we're trying to do, and where we're trying to go. I thought we hit it at every single mark."

Todd-Williams, the No. 5 player in the portal, transferred from the North Carolina Tar Heels after leading the team in three-pointers made last season with 52. Deans led the Florida Gators in scoring in 2022-23 with 14.1 points per game and made 77 three's her senior year.
