'LFG!': Lane Kiffins Reacts To Taylor Swift's New Album Announcment

Lane Kiffin is ready for April 19 to be here for the Ole Miss Rebels to start blasting Taylor Swift's new album.

Lane Kiffin is a self-proclaimed "Swiftie" and doesn't care who knows it.

The Ole Miss coach is also one of the thousands excited for Taylor Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department, to drop on Apri 19.

Most Swifties reshared the photo of the album cover to their social media accounts with a message. Some retweeted the message with several heart emojis or signs of happiness.

But only one Rebels coach coming off the most wins in program history makes headlines on social media the way Kiffin does. Naturally, Kiffin's response to the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, was more a consensus feeling among fans who declare their loyalty to the global entertainer.

"LFG!!!!! Love the drama," Kiffin wrote on Sunday, tagging Swift in his post.

While Kiffin might enjoy the tunes from hit albums like 1989, Red, and Midnights, don't expect him to sing one of the classics at Karaoke on a Friday evening in Oxford. Kiffin declined to sing his favorite Swift song during the pregame press conference prior to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against Penn State.

"I can't sing," Kiffin said in December. "Nor will I right now."

While he might not sing, Kiffin can connect. He has to if he hopes to remain one of college football's top names, especially in an era where the transfer portal and NIL run rampant.

Kiffin has been at the forefront of all conversations surrounding NIL and the portal in recent years. He's also been exceptional in retaining talent, including names like receiver Tre Harris and quarterback Jaxson Dart, who both announced they'd be returning for their senior seasons.

But much like connecting with players, Kiffin connects with Swift through he music, stating she writes "great music" with an emphasis on building a relationship with her fans.

"I kind of think a lot of times movies, songs nowadays, it's like how fast can people pump them out and make money. I feel like she takes a lot of time, and there's a lot of meaning in them, and they can relate to a lot of people," said Kiffin.

Which song is Kiffin's favorite? Right now, he's indecisive. But while he can't go back to December all the time, he has time on recruiting visits and through spring practice to pile through her discography.

"I don't know that I can pick just one," said Kiffin.
