The Ole Miss Rebels are thankful Eli Manning followed in his father's footsteps and took his talents to Oxford, Mississippi.

However, if he were a high school recruit today in the age of Name, Image and Likeness and couldn't choose Ole Miss, where would Manning go to play his college ball?

"Right now, I obviously love the SEC," Manning told The Spun. "Georgia looks pretty tempting. They always have a great defense and good skill position players. My nephew is at Texas. I was close to going to Texas when I was being recruited over 20 years ago. They’re playing great and will be in the SEC next season. I’d put Oklahoma in the same boat. Those three schools would be at the top."

Georgia is, obviously, a Southeastern Conference staple as Texas and Oklahoma are set to join in 2024.

The Bulldogs' draw of back-to-back national championships is undeniable, which was certainly appealing to five-star 2024 quarterback Dylan Raiola who is slated to be the 10th-highest-rated recruit in Georgia history.

Texas has become a recent hub for quarterbacks to flock to, getting commitments from five-stars Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning, Eli Manning's nephew, and four-star Maalik Murphy in the last two recruiting cycles. The Longhorns currently hold pledges from 2024 three-star Trey Owens and 2025 top-10 quarterback KJ Lacey.

Dillon Gabriel currently is one of the top quarterbacks in all of college football, owning the fifth-highest passer rating and eighth-most passing yards per game in the Football Bowl Subdivision, carrying on the precedent set for Oklahoma gunslingers under former head coach Lincoln Riley.

However, Eli Manning's efforts and accolades at Ole Miss will never be forgotten. His 829 completions, 1,363 pass attempts, 10,119 passing yards and 81 touchdowns are all career program records.

He certainly made the right choice the first time around.
