Ole Miss Rebels vs. Alabama Crimson Tide Game Predictions

The Alabama Crimson Tide own the all-time series against the Ole Miss Rebels 54-10-2.

The No. 15 Ole Miss Rebels have had little luck against the No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide.

They've only won 10 matchups against Alabama and two came in back-to-back seasons in 2014-15. Ole Miss is currently on a seven-game losing streak against the Crimson Tide.

Ole Miss has gotten off to a 3-0 start with its patented explosive offense on display yet again this year, while Alabama sits at 2-1 after losing to Texas and struggling against South Florida in each of the last two weeks.

Here are The Grove Report's predictions for Ole Miss' Saturday game against Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

If you were to ask me this question of who would win a couple months ago, I would've said Alabama by two touchdowns. However, now things have changed. The Crimson Tide have struggled in two of the first three weeks, losing to Texas and struggling against South Florida.

The Rebels are going to take their best shot against Alabama, and for the first time since 2015, they're going to win it. Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian become the second pair of coaches to defeat Nick Saban in the same season.

Lane Kiffin told fans to "get your popcorn ready" two years ago at Bryant-Denny Stadium and proceeded to have a front-row seat to the afternoon matinee beatdown. Alabama has questions at quarterback. It has concerns at receiver. New offensive coordinator Tommy Rees will need to pull out all the bells and whistles in 2023 to guarantee the Crimson Tide's terrifying reign continues, and Kiffin very well could take advantage of the gaping holes. Then again, the game is in Tuscaloosa.

Best order a small soda and stay silent for now, Lane.

The Rebels had a chance to take down Alabama in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium last season, and even though this year's matchup is taking place in Tuscaloosa, I believe Ole Miss will have a shot at toppling the Tide in 2023. Alabama is also in the midst of a quarterback competition now that Bryce Young is taking snaps for the Carolina Panthers and the Ole Miss defense got an upgrade in new defensive coordinator Pete Golding. Ultimately, the Rebels will barely lose their first SEC matchup of the year, but it will be a hard-fought loss that shows Ole Miss is ready to upset the LSU Tigers at home in Week 5.

If this were any other season in the previous 15 years, I would say Nick Saban's Alabama would drop the hammer on Ole Miss. Without Bryce Young taking the snaps for the Crimson Tide and recent struggles throughout the last two weeks, this game is seriously winnable for the Rebels this year. Lane Kiffin’s offense will need to push the pace early and re-establish the run game with Quinshon Judkins healthy. But then again, we can’t forget that Alabama hasn’t lost two home games since coach Saban’s inaugural season back in 2007.

Is the castle crumbling? Alabama hasn't lost two home games since Nick Saban's first year in Title Town (2007), and Tuscaloosa is usually a house of horrors for the Rebels.

Still, something feels different. I had a similar feeling when Ole Miss knocked off LSU at home in 2013. I may be wrong, but hey, that's the fun of it. Give me Ole Miss.
