OXFORD, Miss. -- After drafting quarterback CJ Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans are bringing in veteran help along the offensive line to better protect their investment. Houston announced on Thursday via social media that the team had officially signed former Ole Miss Rebels offensive tackle Greg Little.

Little joins the Texans after spending the 2022 season with the Miami Dolphins, where the 6-foot-6, 322-pound tackle appeared in all 17 games last fall. Little has bounced around the league since being selected by the Carolina Panthers with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2019 draft. The former Rebel only spent two seasons with the Panthers before being released following the 2020 season.

Little was one of the top offensive line prospects entering the league after holding down the left tackle position for the Rebels from 2016-18. Coming out of high school, the Allen, Tex., native was the crown jewel of Ole Miss' star-studded 2016 signing class. Little was rated as the No. 1 tackle in the cycle, the No. 1 player in the state of Texas, and the No. 3 overall recruit nationally.

Little is joining Houston as a backup to another former Rebel, offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil, who just signed a lucrative three-year deal worth up to $75 million in March.
