1. Ole Miss baseball blew and early lead against Missouri on Thursday night, falling again in conference play.
The Rebels opened up a substantial lead over the host Tigers on Thursday, but that lead evaporated in the latter innings. You can read Thursday's recap here, and the series is set to continue on Friday night.
2. Recruiting and transfer portal continue to make headlines for Ole Miss football.
The Rebels made the cut for a top recruit on Thursday, joining multiple SEC programs in his top 10. Ole Miss also hosted what could be a key piece out of the transfer portal this week.
3. Ole Miss ace Hunter Elliott is shut down for the year following "hybrid" Tommy John surgery.
Ole Miss released a statement on Thursday detailing that LHP Hunter Elliott underwent successful Tommy John surgery this week, and he will now be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Head coach Mike Bianco stated in postgame media availability on Thursday that Elliott's procedure utilized a "hybrid" technique, but the Rebels will be without his talents for the rest of 2023.
