College Basketball Legend Shouts Out Pitt Freshman

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers freshman Bub Carrington is quickly becoming one of the worst-kept secrets in college basketball as he kicks off his freshman season on a torrid pace.
And Carrington's hot start hasn't just caught the eye of one of this generation's biggest names in college basketball. Legendary ESPN college basketball analyst, Dick Vitale, has Carrington as his "Diaper Dandy" of the Week, an award given weekly to an outstanding freshman from around the sport.

Carrington, who struggled at times in his first handful of games against high-major opponents, bounced back by 16.0 points, four rebounds, seven assists to just 1.5 turnovers, and one steal per game while making 45% of his field goals over two games against the Mountainers and Golden Griffins. He is the first Pitt freshman to ever earn conference Rookie of the Week honors three times since the legendary Dejuan Blair.
Clemson head coach Brad Brownell, whose Tigers knocked off Pitt by nine at the Petersen Events Center last Sunday, was Vitale's Coach of the Week. And former Panther John Hugley's Oklahoma Sooners was Vitale's Team of the Week.
