PITTSBURGH -- Despite suffering a road loss to Virginia Tech over the weekend, the Pitt Panthers moved up the AP Poll this week. Despite losing votes, they earned the second-most points of any team ranked outside the top 25. They sat at fourth in votes among non top 25 squads last week with 84 points.

Pitt garnered 34 total points this week, one of just five ACC squads to earn votes in this week's poll. NC State earned 54 points and they still trailed far behind 25th-ranked Texas A&M, who earned 125. Virginia continued to carry the conference's flag by moving up one spot to No. 6. Miami also solidified its spot in the top 15 by moving up two spots to No. 13.

The Panthers are 4-1 against teams receiving votes this week, with wins over No. 6 Virginia, No. 13 Miami, No. 21 Northwestern and NC State, plus a loss to Duke, who earned three votes.
