Pitt Draws Florida in Preseason NIT

The Pitt Panthers will face a second SEC foe during their non-conference schedule.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have finalized another opponent that they'll play during the first month of the 2023-24 season. 

When the Panthers travel to Brooklyn, New York for the Preseason NIT, they'll face the Florida Gators in their opening game, according to a report from CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein. Tip-off time has yet to be determined, but Pitt knows they'll play two games total on the days before and after Thanksgiving. 

There is now just one more opponent for the Panthers to determine in their non-conference schedule. They'll face either Baylor or Oregon State - the other two participants in the Preseason NIT - two days after playing Florida. 

The full non-conference schedule is as follows:

November 22 vs. Florida (Preseason NIT) - Barclays Center, New York, New York
November 24 vs. Baylor/Florida/Oregon State (Preseason NIT) - Barclays Center, New York, New York
November 28 vs. Missouri - Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
December 6 at West Virginia - WVU Coliseum, Morgantown, West Virginia
December 9 vs. Canisius - Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
December 16 vs. South Carolina State - Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
