WVU Transfer Joe Toussaint Puts Pitt in Top Three

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are on the verge of both filling the final roster spot for their 2023-24 team and stealing a veteran guard from one of their biggest rivals all in one fell swoop.
Joe Toussaint, a graduate transfer guard who is leaving West Virginia in the wake of head coach Bob Huggins' resignation, has released a top three that included Pitt alongside Kansas State and Texas Tech. He will make his decision on July 4.

Pitt overcame some stiff competition to even get to this point. A litany of other high major programs - Gonzaga, Kansas State, DePaul, Seton Hall, Nebraska, Notre Dame, St. John's, Georgetown, Texas Tech, Okahoma and Oklahoma State, among others - have all contacted Toussaint as well in the hours since he decided to transfer.
Toussaint took a visit to Pitt this past weekend and also took trips to see the Wildcats and Red Raiders, according to a report from George Michalowski of The Portal Report.
After transfering to West Virginia from Iowa last season, Toussaint stepped into a major bench role for the Mountaineers and thrived, averaging career-high averages in minutes (21.7), points (9.4) and rebounds (2.8).
He is not an outstanding shooter but would give the Panthers a strong backcourt defender and steady presence at the guard spot, which is all of a sudden very young after losing Jamarius Burton, Nike Sibande, Nelly Cummings and Greg Elliot to graduation.
