Pitt Football Opener vs. West Virginia Sells Out on Primary Market

Single game tickets to the Pitt Panthers' 2022 opener vs. the rival Mountaineers have been sold out.

PITTSBURGH -- If you were hoping to score a seat in Acrisure Stadium for the return of the Backyard Brawl, you better be willing to lock in a spot for all season long, because no more single game tickets for the Pitt Panthers' season opener vs. West Virginia are available on the primary market. Fans still hoping to purchase a ticket can now only get in by buying season tickets or turning to resellers.

This rivalry between Panthers and Mountaineers has been dormant for more than a decade and the tension has been building ever since 2015, when the two programs announced that they would reintroduce the series, beginning with this September's date in Pittsburgh.
