Pitt Breaks Two Bad Streaks Against Syracuse

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers had been riding two ugly streaks going into their Week 10 contest against Syracuse but they ended both on the same drive in the second quarter.
The Panthers hadn't converted a third down since two weeks ago in the third quarter against Notre Dame - 17 attempts in a row - and hadn't scored more than seven points in a game since three weeks ago against Wake Forest. But two big pass plays from Christian Veilleux to Bub Means and Konata Mumpfield ended both skids.

Means got the drive kickstarted in a major way with a difficult catch in traffic. It would have already been a first down but he sprinted down the sideline to make it a 65-yard catch and run. Then, on a third down and five from the Syracuse 10-yard line, Mumpfield's catch and run for a touchdown put the Panthers on top 10-7 over the Orange.
The Panthers added another field goal and took their 13-7 lead into halftime - the first time they've been in front at intermission since Week 1 against FCS opponent, Wofford.
