Pitt LS Cal Adomitis Will Be Coveted at NFL Level

With the NFL Draft next month, the Pitt Panthers long-snapper has carved a niche that few can compete with both on and off the field.

While there has been plenty of discussion about the Pitt Panthers' two other draft prospects, Kenny Pickett and Damarri Mathis - there is a third member representing the school in next month's NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh's long snapper Cal Adomitis took the reigns of a pivotal position as a true freshman for Pat Narduzzi in 2017. From that point forward, he started an impressive 64 games until his final season with the school in 2021.

Last season, his teammates deemed him a captain and had a season to remember as he became the Panthers' 97th All-American as a first-team long snapper. This is unique since only one out of the five NCAA-recognized All-American selectors considers long snapper as a position for their team.

However, the awards did not stop there for the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native. To top things off, he was the recipient of the Patrick Mannelly Award, which goes to college football's top long snapper.

After an impressive collegiate finale, Adomitis' draft season started with an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, which occurred last month. While there, it was evident that Cal was the top prospect at his position.

It is important to note that both of the 2021's long snappers in the Senior Bowl were drafted in the sixth round in last year's draft. Both Alabama's Thomas Fletcher and Michigan's Camaron Cheeseman were the 222nd and 225th selections.

Moreover, after an impressive NFL Combine performance last week, Adomitis has only improved his stock.

While the Panthers' captain has put together impressive performances on the field, his commitment to excellence in his community is unmatched.

Last October, Cal Adomitis decided to partner with the UPMC Children's Hospital to raise $94,000 to help children battling cancer. A cause that he genuinely cares about and is determined to help with.

He is known for his long flowing hair, and he promised to cut it off if the goal was met. So in December - Cal's Kids were more than thrilled to take part in shaving his head.

With plenty of NFL organizations looking for core special teamers and human beings with outstanding character, the Panthers' long snapper checks both boxes.

Expect his name to be called in the NFL Draft, and the organization that drafts him to have a foundational player for years to come.
