Coming out of high school, Cottrell was a unanimous four-star recruit and consensus top-50 player in Florida's class of 2023. ESPN ranked him as high as the No. 162 player and the No. 23 wide receiver in his class.
Cottrell appeared in three games for the Aggies, who recently fired head coach Jimbo Fisher, this season and caught one pass for 13 yards and a touchdown against Louisiana-Monroe.
