Former Pitt S Erick Hallett Makes Position Change

Former Pitt Panther Erick Hallett is playing a different position for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

PITTSBURGH -- Erick Hallett spent three seasons manning the back end of the Pitt Panthers defense as a safety. But as he makes the transition from college to the NFL, his new team has different plans for him.

Per a report from John Shipley of Jaguars Report, the former Pitt defensive back is now playing corner for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who used the 208th pick in the sixth round to select Hallett.

Hallett's no stranger to covering on islands - he had to do it frequently in his free safety position - but he has no experience as a full-time corner under his belt.

In 49 career games at Pitt, Hallett amassed 170 total tackles, eight interceptions, 32 passes defended, four forced fumbles and four recovered fumbles. He earned All-ACC honors twice in 2021 and 2022 and was the 2021 ACC Championship Game MVP
