Pitt Freshman Works Out with Former Panther, NFL Star

An incoming Pitt Panthers freshman worked out with Aaron Donald this week.

PITTSBURGH -- Cruce Brookins is taking advantage of his proximity to the Pitt Panthers practice facility. As a Pittsburgh native, he's been able to spend some time working out at his future home and this week he had a special partner with him.

Brookins posted a picture from the facility with former Panthers and current Los Angeles Rams superstar Aaron Donald, who he went through drills with at the indoor facility of the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

Brookins, a 6'1, 180-pound defensive back, is from Homestead, Pennsylvania - about a 20-minute drive from Pitt's campus in Oakland - and attended Steel Valley High School. He announced he had chose the Panthers over Syracuse and Cincinnati on Signing Day last year. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 10 player in Pennsylvania at the time of his commitment.

Pitt jumped on Brookins quickly after he decommitted from Kent State in early December. One day later, he had an offer from the Panthers and 10 days after that, he was on campus for an official visit.
